Two buses will alternate between these stops - both buses will visit both locations:
Situated at the edge of the globally significant Cheyenne Bottoms wetlands, KWEC offers immersive exhibits and interpretation of this crucial stopover site for thousands of migratory birds. Learn how this Ramsar-designated wetland shapes ecosystems, bird migration, and conservation education.
Go beneath the streets of Ellinwood to explore original 1880s passageways and storefronts. Tour the preserved underground saloon, bathhouse, and shops, and hear stories of frontier life, prohibition workarounds, and Ellinwood’s “Little Germany” heritage—all brought to life through the newly restored Wolf Hotel.
You will return to the Great Bend Events Center for lunch.
