KMA’s Traveling Reception is a time of fun reunions, meeting new people, touring amazing locations and nibbling delicious snacks. It is FREE and open to all conference attendees, presenters, and exhibitors.
Buses will depart from each hotel at 5:15pm and return to that location at the end of the evening
Transportation will be provided between all venues, or travel on your own for more flexibility. We suggest comfortable clothing, walking shoes, and outerwear appropriate for the forecast. Start and end the evening with art, history, and regional hospitality!

Your evening begins at the Amelia Earhart Hangar Museum and Amelia Earhart Memorial Airport! Learn about this unique partnership focused on museum education and aviation, tour the STEM and history exhibitions including the last remaining Lockheed Electra 10-E, the same model Earhart flew when she mysteriously disappeared in 1937, and enjoy appetizers and drinks as you explore.
Benedictine College's Assembly Room - 1020 N Second St, Atchison

Enjoy a tour of the college’s recently opened library, including a replica of the Assembly Room where the Declaration of Independence was debated and signed. The museum-quality space provides interactive learning for school children to learn more about the Founding principles of the United States and our nation’s unique experiment in self-government. After the tour, enjoy dinner catering by Benedictine Dining Services in the beautiful Ferrel Academic Center.
The Traveling Reception is generously provided by the Local Arrangements Committee and our host stops. While we will do our best to accommodate dietary restrictions and special food requests during the conference, we cannot guarantee all requests can be fulfilled. If you have specific dietary needs, please consider bringing additional snacks or beverages to ensure your needs are met.
