Eligibility: Grants are open to current institutional members of KMA. Grant projects must support the mission of the museum, improve its operations, and conform to accepted museum practices and standards to be eligible for funding. Preference will be given to museums that have not received a grant award in the last three years. In recent years this program has been highly competitive. Please note that not all proposals may receive a grant.
Grant period: Expenditures must be completed within one year from the date the grant is awarded. Under special circumstances, recipients may request an extension.
Expenses: Grant monies can be applied to any project-specific expenditure. These include, but are not limited to: materials, supplies, services, postage, and printing. Tools or equipment can be purchased, but must be required for the specified project. Routine operating expenditures, such as utilities, staff salaries, and general supplies are excluded from funding. Grant checks will be distributed at the Awards Luncheon on the final day of the conference.
Contact: For questions about KMA Institutional Grants please contact the Institutional Project Grant Chair, who will serve as the facilitator, via email or phone: 785-227-2220.
