Hello KMA Members: If you have clicked on this link from a "Thank You for Your KMA Membership" email, you are successfully subscribed to the Kansas Museums Association listserv and your membership is current. 

This listserv is a member benefit to allow you access via email to pose questions of and share information with museum experts: your KMA colleagues across the state!  The KMA Board encourages you to use the listserv to send out questions or information to your KMA peers and to gain insight on topics with which you need assistance. Unfamiliar with listservs? Here’s some information to provide you etiquette and engagement tips.

• Listserv Etiquette: Include your name and email address at the end of each message sent to the listserv. E-mails posted to the listserv should be professional and concise. E-mails are increasingly considered to be recoverable under the Open Records Act. Keep listserv topics and material written in a manner that recognizes that possibility for either you or your colleagues. All listserv participants have the ability to reproduce or forward messages sent to the listserv. Members should have the expectation that e-mails may be forwarded internally for the purposes of generating an answer to a question asked by a colleague, but in most cases should not be shared outside of our respective staff.

• To send an email to the listserv: Send to this email address: [email protected] It will automatically send to ALL current members of KMA. Once you have sent the message, you will receive a confirmation advising, “Your message dated Wed, 2 June 2021 19:09:14 +0000 with subject 'test 2' has been successfully distributed to the KMA-L list (190 recipients)."

   

• To respond to questions: When you receive an email from the listserv hit reply and YOU WILL SEND YOUR RESPONSE TO THE ENTIRE LISTSERV. If you would like to reply directly to the sender instead of the whole listserv, you can use the email address at the bottom of their message. You will want to confirm you are sending to your intended recipient.

• Access the KMA Listserv Archives and search for previous discussions and topics: https://listserv.wichita.edu/scripts/wa.exe?A0=KMA-L

   

• To receive all of the day’s emails at once in a digest: Create a password, then change your subscription settings to “digest.”  
  • To create a password, visit: http://listserv.wichita.edu/scripts/wa.exe?GETPW1 

  • Once you have created a password, you can log in and view or change your subscription settings at: http://listserv.wichita.edu/scripts/wa.exe?SUBED1=KMA-L

     

• To unsubscribe: Send an email to “[email protected]” (without the quotes) Leave the subject and body of the email blank.
