KMA Opens Applications for AWARDS, GRANTS, and CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIPS
The Kansas Museums Association is pleased to open applications for scholarships to the annual conference, awards, and institutional project grants. Kansas Museums Association Awards are used to recognize excellence, innovation, and distinguished service within the Kansas museum community. Nominees should be associated with KMA or an individual member. Award categories include:
Award of Excellence – Given to an institution whose project or achievements are worthy of special recognition.
Technology Award – Given to an institution that demonstrates a creative use of technology.
Graphic Design Award – Given to an organization for superior graphic design. Nominee may be a museum or organization that produced graphic design in support of a museum project.
Distinguished Service Award – Given to an individual whose achievements are worthy of special recognition.

Kansas Museums Association Institutional Project Grants provide financial assistance to Institutional members to conduct small projects that improve the quality of their museum operations.
Who is eligible? Any current Institutional member of KMA may apply except those institutions to which members of the Grant Selection Committee are affiliated. Preference will be given to institutions that have not received a grant in the past three years.
What expenditures can be funded? Grant monies can be applied to any project-specific expenditure. These include, but are not limited to: materials, supplies, services, postage and printing. Tools or equipment can be purchased, but must be required for the specified project. Routine operating expenditures, such as utilities, staff salaries and general supplies are excluded from funding.
How much can be awarded? Up to $500 can be awarded per grant. Smaller requests are acceptable.

The Kansas Museums Association, with assistance from the Kansas Humanities Council, is making scholarships available to the 2017 KMA Conference.
