Fair Labor Standards Act – Guidance for Nonprofits
It’s been in the news quite a bit lately, but what does it mean for YOUR museum?
The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has finalized new rules for eligibility regarding overtime compensation. These new rules will go into effect December 1, 2016, and under them a full-time, salaried employee earning less than $47,476 per year could now be eligible to receive overtime pay.
There are a number of factors to consider, and the Department of Labor has issued a 10 page explanatory document especially addressing non-profits.
