2017 Request for KMA Conference Session Proposals – Telling Stories: Why Our Museums Matter
This year the Kansas Museums Association provides a rare opportunity to focus on the value each of our museums bring to Kansas through the idea of storytelling. From the histories of each object to our unique communities, from getting to know our newest visitor to all of our donors, stories are what bring us together.
Tell your museum’s story! What cool new thing have you tried this year that was a resounding success or a lesson in what NOT to do next time? What local, regional, or national issue in the museum field needs to be discussed, debated, challenged, or explored with a roundtable group? You supply the idea and the KMA Program Committee will help you round out the speaker list. Make this the best educational experience of the year and be a part of the 2017 KMA Annual Conference.
We are looking for your ideas that explore the successes, challenges, and opportunities available through your work at Kansas museums. Of particular interest are session topics about educational and programming ideas, collaboration, audience development, collections care, exhibits, administration and board engagement, volunteer management, and any other topic related to the diverse and dynamic work of museums.
