The Eisenhower Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting thelegacy of our nation’s 34th president, Dwight D. Eisenhower. Located in Abilene, Kansas, theFoundation supports the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum, one of just 14presidential libraries in the country and part of the National Archives.
We’re looking for an IKEducation Specialist to join our team.
About the RoleThe IKEducation Specialist reports to the Director of Education and plays a key role in developingand delivering engaging, meaningful learning experiences for K–12 students and educators.In short: you’ll teach, create, collaborate, lead, and juggle many exciting projects.'

You’ll work with students, teachers, colleagues, board members, and donors — all withprofessionalism, discretion, and good humor. Strong communication skills, sound judgment,initiative, and attention to detail are essential.
Required Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree (Education or Museum Studies preferred)• At least five years of classroom or museum education experience (or comparable experienceleading K–12 students)• Familiarity with state and national education standards• Strong classroom management skills• Samples of original curriculum you’ve created• Experience with Pages, Keynote (Mac), and Google Suite — or willingness to learn• Comfort using technology in teaching (iPads, Zoom, etc.)• Professionalism, initiative, and integrity• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively• A desire to stay current with innovative practices in museum education• Skill in creating engaging, participatory learning experiences
Strongly Preferred• Experience managing groups of both adults and students• Current teaching license• Middle or secondary Social Studies teaching experience
What You’ll Do• Facilitate educational programs for K–12 school groups• Develop and refine curriculum and learning materials• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines• Help maintain and update educational content on the Foundation’s website• Promote and share IKEducation materials• Schedule and help manage program facilitators (IKEducators)• Contribute to the creation of hands-on, inquiry-based experiences
Compensation & BenefitsThis is a full-time, year-round position with a starting salary of $50,000–$60,000.
